The main difference between the approach of a startup and that of a large business

  • Involvement and immersion, everyone knows what’s going on in their area of responsibility 5 floors up and down;
  • all managers are playing coaches; if necessary, we roll up our sleeves and do it ourselves;
  • only necessary bureaucracy that does not go against common sense and is understood by the participants;
  • the truth is the best news;
  • we know exactly what we are NOT doing;
  • We do what we can do best, and outsource the rest to professionals in our fields;
  • simple on the outside, complicated on the inside.

For example, we don’t have a sales plan more than six months in advance. We don’t know how much we will sell, what the future will bring. There are hundreds of factors around that we can’t influence or predict. So why waste the energy of our small team to create the illusion of control? We have more important things to do.

A startup is, from the outside, an easy mess, the meaning of which is only available to its participants. But it is the kind of company that can accelerate progress, give new experiences, and make customers’ lives better and brighter.
